Gel Technology Applications in Fluid Displacement, Online Cleaning and Chemical Treatment
Gel pigs are a series of highly viscous gelled liquids developed for use in pipeline operations. GPPS specializes in Gel Technology application for using in pipeline operations especially for pipelines without pig traps or pipelines where the integrity of such pipelines cannot be ascertained. In general Gel technology can be useful for general fluid separation in pipelines that were unsuitable for, or not equipped to handle mechanical pigs. The complex theologies of the Gels give them flow characteristics useful in pipeline servicing. These Gels are biodegradable with no adverse environmental impact.
GPPS has a long-standing relationship with Chemical treatment suppliers in country. Chemical products such as Biocide, Oxygen Scavenger, Corrosion Inhibitor as well as a blend of all three chemicals into a cocktail depending on client requirement are readily available and come with approved DPR permits for use and are environmentally friendly.
GPPS has the pumping fleet for Gel mixing, batching and pumping. GPPS water-based gel “Water Gellant GW 22” is approved by Department of Petroleum Resources for use in Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.
